Meaning of Om

A=Akaram tamasa (darkness, inertia, ignorance) A stands for Creation.
U=Ukaram rajasa (passion, activity, dynamism) U stands for Preservation.
M=Makaram Sattva (purity, truth, light) M stands for Destruction or dissolution.

Mandukya Upanisad also preach in sloka about Om/Aum (800-500 BC).

Thasyopavyakhyanam bhootham Bhavad-Bhavi-
Shyadhithi Sarva-Om-Kara-Eva

Om, the word, is all this. A clear explanation of it is the following All that is past, present and future, verily, Is OM, That which is beyond the three Periods of time is also, indeed, OM. What happened before what is now and what will be later entirely is Om.

OM is the mother of all languages, Om (AUM) is the name of the lord, A(Akaram) is the first letter in the Sanskrit.
A = Brahma (the creator), The first Alphabet A(Akaram) sound that comes from the belly(The Stomach), is formed in the open throat, and is voiced with the mouth open, As with many alphabet sounds.OM or Aum The first one "A" is Shape or form like earth, trees, or other object's.

U = Vishnu (the sustainer), The second Alphabet is the U(Ukaram) sound that is formed in the middle of the mouth. The mouth is not as wide as it is for sounding the A.Om or Aum in second alphabet is "U" means Shapeless or formless like Air,
Water, Fire.

M = Shiva (the destroyer), The third alphabet M(Makaram) the mouth closes. The sound rises to the nasal passages, from where the resonance, the forth aspect of "OM" issues forth.

Om or Aum the third alphabet is "M" neither shapeless or shape but still exists like Energy. when we combine all three alphabets we get OM/AUM. OM is the sound of the universe It represents the past present and future Om or Aum is of supreme importance in Hinduism, Om is one of the Hindu Mantra Om is a sacred syllable representing  Brahman Once you said OM mantra you have said everything.

Badrinath Temple is one of the holiest hindu Chardham One. Pilgrims sometimes called Badrinarayan temple. Badrinath is surrounded by the 2 mountain ranges of Nara and Narayana Badrinath temple is the abode of Lord Vishnu. Badrinath temple is situated along the Alaknanda River in the hill town of Badrinath in India. It is also one of the 108 Divya Desams, The temple and town are one of the four Char Dham and Chota Char Dham pilgrimage sites. It is widely considered to be one of the holiest Hindu temples, and is dedicated to god Vishnu. Badrinath Temple One of the Famous  Hindu temple in India. badrinath is situated at a distance of  about 296 kilometres from Rishikesh, Badrinath temple place is filled with pilgrims during the months of summer for in winter the temple remains closed due to snowfalls, Badrinath temple is located at an elevation of 3,133 Mtrs above sea level on the left bank of ALAKANANDA RIVER.

Road: Badrinath is very well conected with Rishikesh and Haridwar, Badrinath temple is reached by National Highway NH 58  The Badrinath temple pilgrims from New delhi to badrinath Via Haridwar and Rishikesh in pilgrim season of summer months.


History of badrinath temple / About Badrinath Temple

Badrinath Temple is one of the famous hindu god temple in India, The badrinath Temple area was known as Badari or Badarikasram in hindu scriptures this place sacred to Lord Vishnu. The word Badrinath is derived from the word Badri or the wild Berries which are seen plenty of here, this place of full of badri (Beal fruit BER) Bushes. This is a local wild berry. Badrinath temple is situated on the banks of the Alaknanda River in the lap at the Narayana Parvat, Near a hot water spring-The Tapta Kund.

The temple was worshipped as a Buddhist temple, when King Ashoka was the ruler of India, But according to Skanda Purana there is no sacred shrine like badrinath temple on earth or anywhere in universe, The idol of Lord Badrinath was recovered by Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankaracharya from Narada Kund and was re-enshrined in the 8th century A.D. in this Badrinath temple. The Lord of  Badrinath (Vishnu) is made of black stone (Shaligram) and seated in a Padmasan Posture.

Lord Badrinath is a One(1) meter tall statue of vishnu in the Badrinath temple this statue is considered by hindu's to be one of Self Manifested statue (Swayambu). There are 15 more murtees (God Statues) around the Badrinath temple these include of Nara-Narayana, Narasimha swamy, Laxmi devi, Narada, Ganesha, Udhava, Kubera, and Nava Durga. In badrinath temple outside the exit door of the temple is the seating place of Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya who meditated here.

The king of Garhwal moved the murthy to the present temple, The present Badrinath temple was expanded by the king of Garhwal in the 17th century Before it again underwent damaged in the great 1803 Himalaya earthquake the temple was then Rebuilt by the king of Jaipur.
